March 6, 2011 - A key to our heart

We are lucky to have Mike's step-mom's fathers organ, it is an antique. Unfortunately, neither one of us know how to play but I can remember my mom playing the piano when I was younger. So I'm hoping she can teach me a few things on it. This is definately a keepsake for the family and is a key to Dee's heart.

February 20, 2011 - Background change

Today I was practicing with Corel X3 and I took a photo of Aidan and changed the background to white. I still need to practice, but I thought for my first try it came out pretty cool.

December 12, 2010 - First Major Snow Fall

Woke up this morning to beautiful snow on the ground. It's been snowing since 3am and expected to last all day. I just love the snow during the holidays and knew this would make a great photo for the day. When the snow sticks to the branches on trees it is just amazing.

I love making crafts. A few years ago I made a beautiful wreath for our front door. So for my photo of the day I decided to let in the natural light and take a photo!

November 26, 2010 - Christmas Tree Cutting Day

Today we went to cut down our Christmas tree. We've been going to Blake's since 2008 as our new family tradition! It is such fun, we go on a wagon to the tree farm, walk to find the perfect tree and get to cut it down ourselves. Of course I bring along the camera to get photos of our fun day. I so enjoy doing this with my family.

November 22, 2010 - Is it Christmas yet??

Christmas is ABSOLUTELY my favorite holiday of the year! I love the music, beautiful snow(only at this time) and the feeling of joy and hope in the air. I love spending time with my family and hoping the traditions get passed on to my son and his children and to Melanie & Megan and so on. The Christmas decorations are always lovely to admire and enjoying a cup of hot cocoa. Above all, it is the time to celebrate the birth of Christ! I am so grateful that He is my savior!

So today I decided to get a jump start on the decorating and completed the fireplace. Just love the look of the glistening lights and stockings hung with love by the fire!

October 25, 2010 - Red Rock Canyon, NV

My mom and I went to visit my sister in Vegas. We spend one day just sight seeing and visited Red Rock Canyon. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! The mountains changed colors based on how the sun was shining on them. We took a 13 mile scenic drive through the canyon and was just amazed at God's creation. I definatey would do it again. This photo is of a Joshua tree in the canyon with the mountains in the background. The Joshua tree was named after Joshua in the bible.

October 3, 2010 - Beautiful sky colors

While sitting in my living room with my husband and mom, my mom looked outside and said, "Virginia look at the sky." Well of course I had to grab my camera and take a photo, this is with no photo editing at all.

Sept 13, 2010 - Fall is approaching

Today on our way home I noticed that this tree is already turning a beautiful color of red, but it's only September :( Love the fall colors, but not ready for winter to arrive!

Over the labor day weekend we took out boat to Metro Park. We walked the nature trail and saw this old gazebo along the way. I thought it would make a nice photo.

August 15, 2010 - Storms a comin'

We had a great day today with good friends out on the lake. We decided to ride out the storm, which ended up being a good idea because it only lasted for a few minutes.
